What you will need:
- Coconut oil
- Olive oil
- Orange / Lemon essential oil
The leather boots cleaner recipe
Coconut oil can be used to condition leather boots, it maintains the temperature around the boots and keeps them warm. Once the process of conditioning has been completed, there is no residue left behind. Moreover, olive oil has been proven to enhance the shine of boots as if they were waxed.
Don’t separate olive oil from the rest of the ingredients. If you are using olive oil separately, it is not the best for your leather boots since olive oil is heavy oil and leather has numerous pores that will absorb the oil and eventually rot the leather.
How to make a leather boot cleaner using 3 ingredients and what you’ll need
- 3 Tbsp of Coconut oil
- 1 Tbsp of Olive oil
- 3 drops Orange or Lemon essential oil
- Soft cloth
Step 1: Prepare Leather boots for cleaning
Put down a newspaper or rag on the workspace.
Make sure the laces are off before getting started. By doing this, the boots can be cleaned more easily.
Using the towel or shoe trees, stuff the boots so that they’ll keep their shape while you are working on them.
Step 2: Remove the dirt
Then, you will take a brush you can get from anywhere and go over the top of the boots to knock off any dirt or dust that has been caked on.
Make sure you reach all the gaps and crevices.
Step 3: Perform a test to prevent a mess on leather boots!
It is necessary to test all homemade natural ingredients first to avoid making them worse than before.
Therefore, you should spot-test on a small section inside of leather before applying it all over, and wait for some hours. Clean the leather if it is in good condition.
Step 4: Create a mixture
Take a bowl, and add 3 Tbsp of Coconut oil, 1 Tbsp of Olive oil, and 3 drops of Orange or Lemon essential oil.
Max these all recipes in a bowl.
Step 5: Apply on the boots
Take the soft cloth and dip it into the mixture. Rub it all over the leather boots. Make sure you reach all the gaps and crevices thoroughly.
Let your leather boots dry for a couple of hours, and you’ll see that they’re nice and free from any salt stains.
